Committed to the community.
Dear Neighbors and Friends in District 4,
I’m Janeé Hanzlick and I want to represent you on the Johnson County Board of County Commissioners. I’m running because I want to ensure that Johnson County remains an outstanding place for people to live and raise families, and where businesses can flourish and enrich our local economy.
Johnson County is at a crossroads. Some of our County Commissioners have indicated that it is time for the county to pursue a new direction and new leadership. They are willing to jeopardize our award-winning and nationally-recognized county for an undefined, untested future. At a time when citizens need and want enhanced services, including mental health and public safety, we must elect an accountable county government that is committed to both fiscal responsibility and high-quality services.
I have the leadership experience and the professional expertise to lead Johnson County into a stronger future. As the former Director of SAFEHOME, Johnson County’s domestic violence agency, I spent 20 years working for a safer, stronger county. I oversaw an annual budget of $3.5 million and know how to provide quality services while also exercising financial accountability. I worked closely with law enforcement, District Attorney’s office, mental health services, and human services and aging programs. I have been in the trenches every day for our community, and I look forward to continuing that service on the Board of County Commissioners.
Soon, I will be in your neighborhood to meet you and listen to your ideas to ensure that Johnson County is a great place to call home now and in the future. I look forward to serving as your County Commissioner. Please vote for me on November 6.
